We built a custom Transmission Z bar bracket to allow the correct angle, travel and attaching points for our custom fabricated linkage rods to change gears smoothly while the customer gently pulls the column shift lever. |
As seen the installed Z bar pivot with linkage rods and trans brackets are in place and doing their job. A smooth shift mechanism including park, drive and reverse all work with the gear selector showing the proper selection at all times. |
Here we have the main rod from the bottom of the column lever to the Z bar tube pivot. All of the linkage rods were built from 400 series stainless steel for strength as well as no rust beauty. |
We also fabricated a throttle cable bracket in stainless to hold the cables in place on the fuel injection plenum. |

Another look shows the throttle cable brackets in place and securing the cables steady allowing a smooth foot pedal to throttle cable action. |
