1. Fabricating body panels is a regular part of our daily routine. Kenny takes the profile gauge to check this wooden corner post in order to choose his bending tool. His choice is round tubing of the same profile. Ken mocked up the tubing after marking on some 19 gauge cold roll steel and gently bent the sheet to the correct angles with a contoured corner that matches the original to a tee. Placing angle iron supports with the clamps at critical points is the key to a good bend.
2. We have it fitted to the cab and it is looking good. A panel that fits naturally with out any tension is optimum.
3. Alignment of many individual panels is critical so that channel moldings will fit with no gaps.
4. The same will be performed on the lower 1/2 of the cab. Kenny is checking with a straight edge to determine if any alteration needs done.
5. Shaving hardwood to achieve the perfect form for new metal is what makes the difference in a quality product.
