1 During the course of building Custom vehicles we always seem to come upon unique requests from our Customers. This fiberglass repro is an LA Tiger hood which was offered on the Sunbeam Tigers with a special upgrade. We will take a stock Sunbeam Alpine steel hood and build an LA hood for better longevity vs the hand laid fiberglass units that are currently available as they do not fit well and require a lot of work to look right on a Tiger.

2 Our first hurdle shows the LA hood is pointed on the corner and our Tiger body is round. The Customer opted to keep the smoother rounded edges as his Tiger is a one off Custom anyway.
3 We started with building the air side vent scoops then grafting the fabricated pieces on to the hood.

4 Another view shows the vents fabricated and in place. We then tack welded them in place.

5 This view from the top side shows them coming along nicely. Identical to the Original LA style.
6 With the hood set in place the side scoops are taking shape and looking good.
7 We have fabbed out the main center hood scoop and are tack welding it in to place.
8 As seen our new all metal LA Tiger hood is really looking good and is ready for blasting.
9 This particular car will have around 450 horse power so we opted to brace up the hood a bit with an X brace to keep it tight.
10 A close up of the front scoop section shows a screen mesh in place to stabilize the opening and keep debri/bugs etc out of the engine compartment!
11 We media blasted all the welds and bare metal surfaces and she is ready to prime and move on to the rest of the fabrication on this one of a kind TIGER !
