1. There are a myriad of ways to support and raise seats in a custom project. We like to do it with style, strength and storage space if possible. This bucket seat riser was designed with a Zee looking base for an aggressive structure.
2. We also built storage compartments and a CD changer slide out. As seen by our paperboard mock ups we are ready to build it on the box pan brake now that the customer has approved the design.
3. Sometimes we have to lower the seats to achieve a proper eye sight level over the projects hood. We can either change the floor sheet metal or alter the seat base to get this done. As seen we are cutting the seat base on this Chevrolet Tahoe seat by shaving a section off to fit the floor of our 51 Ford WOODY project.
4. We use profile gauges to transfer unusual shapes during trimming and cutting. As seen we have achieved the clearance we needed.
5. We simply took 1/8th flat bar and shaped it to fit and strengthen the seat base. We will now weld it in solid.
6. She fits well, looks good and will provide an excellent anchoring system for our nut and bolt hold down system to be installed. We can now reupholster the seats during the detailing process.
