Favorite Past Restorations

Monday, February 18th, 2008

I thought I would spend some time talking about a few of our favorite restoration projects over the years. Of course, our corvette restorations have always been one of the shop’s favorites builds, no matter how big of a project they turned out to be. There’s something about a corvette, when you stand back and look at her that just looks complete and everything works together so nicely that to us, it is perfection.

One of the most beautiful projects that comes to my mind is the 58 Corvette, she is a beauty. She’s an excellent example of an early Vette done up to the highest level of restoration. The yellow and white really set off her lines and we all enjoyed working on this one. You can see pictures of the 58 Corvette I am talking about on our main site www.jefflilly.com along with other corvette restorations that we have done in the past.

A quick second favorite would be the Mustang Restorations we have completed in the past. The guys in the Hot Rod Shop always enjoy working on a ’stang no matter what we are doing to it. From complete restorations back to factory condition to a radical custom we have done them all.

We are proud to offer Mustang owners a say in the extra modifications that they want made on their project. We figure if you want it, we’ll build it. We go the extra mile to find out exactly what it is you want, even if you are not sure yourself, give us a call and we will help you figure it out.

Hot Rod Shop Wheels and Tires

Friday, February 15th, 2008

I don’t know how many hot rod shops go the extra mile like we do at Jeff Lilly Restoration, to make sure you are happy with the look and size of your new wheels and tires.

We are happy to put forth the extra effort to make sure our customers are completely satisfied with the way their wheels and tires look on their hot rod. If you don’t like the look of them when we email you a picture, we’ll keep trying different combinations until you are in love with the look.

Recently while doing a mustang restoration, we tried a variety of wheel sizes and tire combinations to make our customer the happiest he could be. We first tried a low profile tire with a taller wheel and he didn’t like the look of the low profile tires, but he did like the way it looked overall on the car. So what we did for his mustang restoration was this: we got a shorter wheel and bigger profile tires to keep it the same size but it showed more of the rubber this time instead of the low profile look. It still filled the same amount of space on the car but gave the customer the amount of rubber he wanted to see.

We did this all online, by emailing him pictures during the process so he didn’t have to take time out of his busy schedule to come and see the different wheel and tire combinations we tried on the car.

By doing this it saved us time in the hot rod shop that we would have added on to his mustang restoration price. So it’s a win win situation for both the car owner and us. We want to make you happy with your project and will go to great lengths to make sure your restoration is just the way you want it.

Street Rod Shop Projects

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

Currently at our Street Rod Shop, you will find us working on hidden hood hinge projects to bring your hot rod up to date.

You will find that many rodders are turning to the technology now available for many applications, and automatic hood lift systems are one of the newest to come along. These have been turning the heads of classic car owners everywhere. Who wouldn’t like to lift there hood just a few inches and let the gas shocks take over from there? It’s just another way for you to show your appreciation for your classic car and the newest technology that makes this possible.

Of course, it can only be added if there is enough room to install the gas shocks or springs that make this unit work. The guys in my Street Rod Shop can usually make the room needed with our modification techniques. We know just what to do in most cases to make the hood lift system work for your ride.

If you would like to update your ride to include this or any other modification, give our Street Rod Shop a call today. We have successfully installed many of these types of these hood lift systems and look forward to working on your project.

Mustang Restoration

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

I don’t think there is a car out there that the guys in the hot rod shop like more than the Mustang. There is something about a mustang restoration that brings a certain mood to the shop like no other kind of restoration can do.

Maybe it’s because of all the successful Mustang restorations we have completed in the past, or it could just be that all the guys in the hot rod shop are Ford Mustang lovers. Whatever it is, I don’t care because it makes my guys work that much harder to make each Mustang the best it can be.

Even the smallest nut or bolt will be on the list of priorities when it comes to restoring Mustangs or any kind of automobile, for that matter. These guys are committed to quality and led by our core values and beliefs that each employee is valued and important to our company. Every Hot Rod Shop should operate in this manner to get the most out of their employees. When the employees are committed like mine are, you get quality results time after time.

If you have decided to have your Mustang restored, give us a call to get it in here so we can take a look at it for you. let my guys guide you through the process with ease and without the worry of doing the restoration yourself. We will get it right by working closely with you on your Mustang Restoration.

The guys in the Hot Rod Shop and myself are looking forward to seeing your Mustang and nailing down the details as to how you want it customized. Give us a call today at 210-695-5151

Corvette Restoration Pricing

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

Here at Jeff Lilly’s street rod shop, we are often asked how much it is for a complete corvette restoration. This is hard to answer without actually knowing what all needs to be completed with your project. There are many different factors that may cause your corvette restoration  to be more or less expensive than other corvette’s we have done in the past depending on your style and the current condition of the corvette.

Other factors that could affect the pricing of your corvette restoration would be the custom options you would like to add. That’s why the street rod shop only gives prices based on the parts and labor it takes to get the project completed. There is simply no way that we could just have a base price to tell people when they call to get a quote for a corvette restoration.

Visit Jeff’s Street Rod Shop online to get a better idea of the kinds of restorations available for your corvette or any kind of street rod you want restored. Our team can handle any job, big or small.

If you’ve started a project on your own and realized it will be too much for you to handle, give us a call and we will finish it for you.

Let’s get those Street Rods on the road for the upcoming season!
