Misc Body

1. We sealed off the vents long ago when building the custom hood hinges so there really is no need for these vent holes. The body will look a lot sleeker with out them.
2. The covers were installed with screws and a gasket. They will be blasted and painted satin black during the refinishing phase. Bob shows the template that was pre fit .
3. Magnets hold the metal in place while he checks for alignment and correct gap spacing, just before starting the welding process.
4. Tack welded in place
5. Metal finished and ready for some smoothing.
Old style mirrors will be installed with a remote.
Laid out and ready to drill the mounting holes.
Bob rolls some metal to match the doors shape to use as a reinforcement on the underside. This will keep the mirror from putting ripples in the top of the door when tightened down in place.
Our profile gauge was previously matched to the top of our door. As seen it is matched against the new metal and is an exact fit.
We then media blasted them for adhesion as they will be epoxied in place on the under side of the door. Note the hole to clear the remote cables on the driver side.
Up under the door we have it epoxied in place.
The mirror is now mounted and ready for action.
