Seats
| The original style Galaxie XL 500 trim on the seats also gets restored. | |
| The seat backs are metal and usually have dents in them. | |
| Once removed we use rounded tooling to gently push and roll the ripples out. | |
| Seat tracks need completely rebuilt with their 45 year old rollers etc. | |
| Original nylon guides removed etc. | |
| Now we can clean and restore all the moving parts etc. | |
| Time to media blast then paint all the parts. | |
| Green zinc chromate for adhesion is applied first. | |
| All parts ready to go. | |
| Once the tracks are rebuilt they are painted satin black. | |
| The original seat tracks were changed to a new later model track system. In addition the location of the adjustment lever was also changed so we need to build new side covers. Mani has laid out a template. | |
| As seen our chip board mock up is a twin to the original plastic cover. | |
| It fits the contour of the original seat bottom well so we are ready to fabricate it in steel. | |
| Laid out and ready to cut some 20 gauge. | |
| Once done it is an exact replica. Time to prime and paint. |
