Seats

The original style Galaxie XL 500 trim on the seats also gets restored.
The seat backs are metal and usually have dents in them.
Once removed we use rounded tooling to gently push and roll the ripples out.
Seat tracks need completely rebuilt with their 45 year old rollers etc.
Original nylon guides removed etc.
Now we can clean and restore all the moving parts etc.
Time to media blast then paint all the parts.
Green zinc chromate for adhesion is applied first.
All parts ready to go.
Once the tracks are rebuilt they are painted satin black.
The original seat tracks were changed to a new later model track system. In addition the location of the adjustment lever was also changed so we need to build new side covers. Mani has laid out a template.
As seen our chip board mock up is a twin to the original plastic cover.
It fits the contour of the original seat bottom well so we are ready to fabricate it in steel.
Laid out and ready to cut some 20 gauge.
Once done it is an exact replica. Time to prime and paint.
