71 Mustang - Body Repairs

Many dents were on the body including the rocker panel. Stud puller with no holes makes short work of it. Simply cut and grind the heads off when done. |

As seen holes were drilled and used for pulling the dent out. This is a production method of pulling dents and only removes about 60% of the dent thus promoting too thick of filler use which will not hold up. We will repair it right. It is not worth changing out the complete qter panel for the time it will take us. |

The pull studs we use are tacked on to the surface so no hole is made. We have every thing pulled out and with the access to the back side it enabled us to get it all flat to the surface. |

Next we weld up all those holes that the Bogus repair shop made. |

Ground smooth and metal worked. As seen the straight edge shows a perfect repair. |

Side profile shows it to be dead on. Now only a skim coat 1/6th of fill is needed which is minimal compared to the 1/4 to 1/2 thick done by the bogus repair shop. |

Same on the rear qter a dent that was never removed properly and was simply filled. |

Next thing you know Mani had it all out and looking good. |

Typical Mustang drain cowl below the wind shield is rusted out. This view is from under the dash. This is why the floors rust out on Mustangs because the water leaks from above dripping on and under the carpet when the car is washed or driven in the rain. |

Mega Holes. Most definitely not one of Fords better ideas. |

We cut it out and are ready to redo for a permanent repair. |

Our car will be equipped with full A/C so the customer opted to simply cover the old style vent holes and eliminate the problem from ever returning. Besides who needs smelling air coming in from the outside any ways. We live in an A/C world. |

Once blasted we check for any pin holes with a light down inside the drain cowl from above. Just 1 pin hole was spotted so we spot welded and we are good to go. |

Once the initial straightening was done we primed the body with high build . |
